What We Believe

As Christians there is the need that God has placed within our hearts for genuine worship that centers on Jesus Christ. Through music, prayer, giving and the preaching of the Bible, spiritual growth of believers is encouraged, along with the opportunity for the unbeliever to receive salvation.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are called to be His disciples. The word disciple means to be a “learner” of the Word of God. Through the consistent and systematic study of the Bible in Sunday School, through preaching and through other Bible study ministries, our members have an opportunity to grow in the grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

As a community of believers at Main Street Baptist Church, there is a need for fellowship with one another. Here we encourage our members to have regular fellowship activities through Sunday School and other age-related ministries that are Christ-centered with a purpose of providing encouragement, edification and ministry.

Believing that all Christians are called by Christ to be servants in His Kingdom, at Main Street Baptist Church we desire that every member of the church seek to actively serve God through the spiritual gifts and talents that God has given to them.

Jesus gave the church and all Christians “The Great Commission” in Matthew 28: 19–20, which states, “Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Members of Main Street Baptist Church are encouraged to be actively participating and supporting missions and evangelism locally in our community, as well as nationally and globally.
