The Music Ministry at Main Street Baptist Church is committed to providing theologically rich, scripture-driven, dynamic worship experiences for all generations. The primary emphasis of our Music Ministry is on our Sunday morning corporate worship services, but we hope to equip the members of the church to use music throughout the week to reinforce the key doctrines of the Christian faith in their hearts. Marked by a traditional presentation, we seek to blend sacred hymns of the faith with new music that tells the story of Christ’s redeeming love.

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir at Main Street Baptist Church leads worship in our Sunday morning worship services. Each week we prepare anthems that share the truth about God’s love through Christ, as well as leading the congregation in singing together with one voice. Membership in the Sanctuary Choir is open to all adult members of Main Street Baptist Church. The choir rehearses weekly on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm. in the Choir Suite, which is located on the second floor. Youth Choir meets on Sundays at 4:00 pm.

Each Sunday morning (from August through May), the Main Street Baptist Church Orchestra adds a unique, vibrant element to our worship services. Comprised of some of the finest musicians in the Hattiesburg area, the orchestra plays skillfully, accompanying congregational hymns, choral anthems, providing prelude and offertory music. The orchestra rehearses from 9:30-10:30 am. in the sanctuary on Sunday mornings. Membership in the orchestra is based upon need and is by audition only. If you would like to audition, please contact us at

Children's Choirs

Children from age three through sixth grade are invited to join us each Wednesday at 5:45 pm. during the school year for Children's Choir. We have three choirs: Preschool, Kindergarten - 2nd grade, and 3rd - 6th grade. Choirs focus not only on teaching children how to sing, but impart truths about God's Word through music. Emphasis is placed on equipping kids for corporate worship so that they can participate with the rest of the church when we come together to sing. The Children's Choirs sing periodically in morning worship services, as well as presenting Christmas and spring programs. Email for more information.

Glory Sound

Our Senior Adult Choir, Glory Sound, meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 11:00 am.
