The Happy Meals of Life
“There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these for so many people?” John 6:9
When my kids were small I remember taking them to McDonalds for a “Happy Meal.” They would get so excited about it! They loved getting the little toy that came with it especially. Today, I am blessed to take my two granddaughters at times for the same experience. They get just as excited as my kids did many years ago. It is amazing that something so small can do so much! I am always amazed, as well, at how God can do so much with so little it seems. This is perhaps a good time, because of the COVID-19 Crisis we are currently in, to remember this simple Biblical truth. The disciple Andrew was somewhat skeptical it seems when he said to Jesus, “what are these for so many people?” Yet in the hands of Jesus, this little boy’s “happy meal” was blessed and multiplied by Jesus to feed at least 5000 people! What an awesome miracle! Jesus can do a lot with a little when it is given to Him sincerely. It is important that we give this time we are in right now to the Lord. I believe He can do more through this time than we can realize. Even though we are not able to do all the activities we normally do, I am believing that the Lord is going to do a lot with what we are able to do right now! He will use this time for His glory and our good if we truly give it to Him as the “lad” gave his little meal to Jesus that day. Sometimes we overlook something about the little boy, he was willing to offer all of his little meal to Jesus. He was willing to share what he had before he had any idea what Jesus was about to do. This is a good time to evaluate our own hearts and see if we are holding anything back from the Lord. We need to surrender all to Him! We may think that what we have to offer God isn’t much, but remember, Jesus can do a lot with a little when it is given to Him sincerely. I am praying for you. In your homes and families take advantage of this time and have some “Happy Meals” in the Lord together! As always, call me if I can help you with anything.
